Three-year-old Evelina fell ill last summer. Suddenly, she became lethargic, lost her appetite, and refused to go for walks. A few more days passed, and the child only got worse. The therapist's initial suspicion of a cold needed to be confirmed. Unfortunately, tests done in a Vinnytsia hospital confirmed a more significant problem – the girl had insulin-dependent diabetes.
The mother and daughter spent the first few days in the intensive care unit under intravenous drips and medical supervision. Her sugar levels remained high, but the girl started eating. On the fourth day, the child was transferred to the ward, where she spent another week. Evelina did not want to walk on her own, she was either in bed or in her arms. From morning to night, the girl had tantrums, which had never happened before in all 3 years. This is how her first days with a diagnosis of diabetes passed.
Later, the doctors let Evelina go home. The girl became more active, her tantrums stopped, and her blood sugars began to return to normal. And her mother began to study information about her diagnosis. There were good days and bad days. But every day she was getting better and better. Her mother realized that diabetes is not a sentence, and she can live a long and happy life with it.
Evelina has a whole zoo at home: three cats, a dog and a parrot. Evelina began to spend a lot of time outside with them, and her sugar cravings became less due to this activity. The use of continuous monitoring sensors was a godsend for the child. With it, there is no need to prick the fingers 10-15 times a day. You don't have to worry at night, because the sensor shows and signals all changes. With sensors, it is much easier to compensate for diabetes and prevent possible complications from the consequences of the disease.
A mother asks for help in purchasing such sensors, as it is very important for maintaining her daughter's good health.
