10-year-old Eliana needs funds for a new rehabilitation course – to move closer to her dream one step at a time.
Eliana is a girl with an unusual and beautiful name who has been fighting harder than any child should ever have to fight from the very first days of her life. She was born prematurely at 32 weeks, weighing just 1,500 g. In her first days of life she was diagnosed with seizure syndrome, at 9 months – West syndrome, and later – cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Due to seizure episodes, the girl was unable to attend rehabilitation centers or work with specialists for a period of time – the illness would not even allow her that.
But for over 3 years now Eliana has been in remission thanks to medication – there are no seizures. And she is making full use of this time. Rehabilitation is producing real results: the girl has begun to pronounce words more clearly, her vocabulary has grown, she has become more active and explores everything around her with curiosity. Her sleep has normalized and her spasticity has decreased. She is a girl full of potential who very much wants to overcome her illness.
Eliana's dream – and that of her family – is to learn to stand and walk independently. This is what will allow her to live a full life, like other children. A new rehabilitation course is one more real step toward that dream. Please support Eliana
