There are a few things that never fail to bring a smile to David’s face: toy cars, trains, and airplanes. He can spend hours playing with them, carefully examining every model, inventing his own stories, and enthusiastically watching everything that moves. These are the kinds of carefree and joyful interests every child should be able to enjoy. Sadly, behind David’s natural childhood curiosity lies a difficult journey that he has been facing since the very beginning of his life.
David was born prematurely. The first days of his life were spent in the neonatal intensive care unit, where doctors fought to save his life. As a consequence of his difficult start, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The left side of his body is significantly affected, making it difficult for him to eat independently, perform everyday tasks, and move confidently without assistance.
Despite these challenges, David refuses to let his diagnosis define his future. He works incredibly hard to learn the skills that most children acquire naturally. With the help of a walker, he is taking increasingly confident steps forward, and every new achievement brings immense joy to his family.
For several years now, David has been receiving treatment at the Institute of Pain Problems. Most importantly, every rehabilitation course has resulted in measurable progress. Muscle tension continues to decrease, his movements become more coordinated, he gains better control over his body, walks with greater confidence, and steadily acquires new skills. His parents witness these improvements after every course of rehabilitation, while his physicians consistently note positive progress. This clearly demonstrates that every previous course of treatment has been worthwhile and has already helped David become stronger and more independent.
For children with cerebral palsy, regular rehabilitation is essential to preserve the progress already achieved and to ensure continued development. David's doctors strongly recommend that he undergo another course of treatment, as they believe he has every opportunity to consolidate his achievements and make further progress.
David is growing up in a large, loving family that provides him with constant care and support. However, the financial burden of long-term rehabilitation exceeds the family's means. For this reason, his parents are once again turning to compassionate people for help.
Your donation is much more than financial support for medical treatment. It is another opportunity for David to stand more confidently, move more freely, become increasingly independent, and continue discovering the world around him with joy. Together, we have already helped him make meaningful progress on this challenging journey. Today, with your support, we can help ensure that he continues moving forward
