Mom, I want to eat!

There are many families in Ukraine who are in difficult life circumstances. This situation is caused by many factors: war in the East of Ukraine, loss of work or breadwinner in the family, serious illness of parents or a child. It can be a large family or a family that brings up a disabled child. Such families are held hostage to the crisis, because most often they can't solve the problem on their own, without the support of charitable funds or social services. As a result, children first find themselves on the street, and then in special institutions for children.

HRCF "Social Assistance Service" has been supporting families who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances in the project “Helping Families with Children” since 2012. In the project, we help parents cope with difficulties, save the family for the child and the child in the family.

The main activity is the social support of the family until it emerges from the crisis and improves its condition. However, at the time of an acute crisis, both social and material support in the form of food and essential goods is very important. The process of social work is lengthy; therefore, food assistance enables the family to survive a difficult period. Every month we support grocery sets of 90 families. The price of one set is 390 UAH. This is a real chance for the family not to face hunger and feed the children. Due to the reduction in funding for the main donor, we are forced to ask for support for our beneficiaries. To purchase food packages for 90 families, we need 35 100 UAH. Each of your hryvnias will help children stay in the family with their mothers and dads and not get into institutions for orphans.
