Mum, when will my dawn come?
A 9-year-old Liza shared her big and serious problems with us… "One of my ward mates passed away today… I’ve been here for 2 years but I still cannot get used to this place. My granny used to sing for me, so I would imagine myself dancing on the stage. I was feeling as if I were healthy again… My granny is sick now and cannot visit me in the hospital anymore. I heard my mom saying to the doctor that my granny has cancer. I even thought I infected her."
But it is impossible because Liza's disease is very rare, so it is even hard to pronounce it. Liza is diagnosed with eosinophilic bone granuloma – Langerhans cell granulomatosis. This rare disease occurs 3 in a million. The treatment requires approximately 15 085.20 euros. This treatment is the only chance for Liza to survive.
“My mom says that everything will be alright and I will dance again… But she is going to present my dress to someone else because it is too small for me now! I weigh more due to hormones but I will be in shape again soon. Present my dress! No way!
I almost never tell mommy about my unbearable pains because she may decide I will not be able to dance anymore. I understand her worries, of course. It is not easy for her to take care of me all this time. I cannot walk now and it is hard to breathe… After one of the chemotherapies I thought I’d never wake up, so terribly I felt. However, I was then imagining myself dancing and it helped me to feel better. My mom taught me to imagine and dream. She believes I should dream of my speedy recovery.
During my treatment in Germany professor Luebeck told me that after he successfully finishes my treatment – he would definitely perform a traditional Ukrainian folk dance with me. Unfortunately, my mom did not have enough money, so we had to come back home.
Mommy says that the darkest hour is just before the dawn, so I believe that my darkness will vanish and I will again enjoy the sunshine!"
Little Liza can currently only imagine herself dancing with her granny’s songs. Help this girl to have her chance for recovery! Help Liza enjoy her dawn of life sooner!
