In the fate of Elena, the mother of a one and a half- year old Matthew, the war and terrible medical errors coincided in time. And now Matthew is both a terrible grief and the greatest happiness of her life.

Doctors from Lisichansk did not want to do a caesarean, and as a result, when the child was born he was blue, with a cord entanglement and was not breathing, it had a brain hypoxia. Then he was crying all the time and could not eat. And to all Elena’s requests to examine the kid the would-be physicians responded: he’s got cramps and you - postpartum depression. And she was prescribed to take psychiatric drugs.

Elena made the right decision and took Matthew to Lugansk. There the doctors found a swelling of the brain, and a whole bunch of pathologies. Active treatment came to fruition, the child began to eat a little, but then the war broke out in Donbas. They were discharged from the hospital and had to live in a village with no stores or pharmacies working. Once the traffic was resumed the mother and son go to Kharkov.

And here after all the surveys, the child was given the set of diagnoses, due to which the kid in his year and a half cannot do anything by himself – he can neither sit nor turn nor speak nor walk. He can barely see his mom…
