Matviyko strives to learn to walk

Red hair kids always attract more attention. We also could not just pass by Matthew! He's such a carrot and looking at the photo it is hard to tell that the child was two strokes in the right and left hemisphere of the brain during his mom's pregnancy with him. The boy's parents did not have any doubt that they made the right choice to keep the baby. He's a second child in the family, he was born with a severe heart and brain defect. And now Matviyko needs help more than ever!

From his age of 4 months old Matthew has been going through the rehabilitation courses in Lviv in RC "Elita" and in RC "Apis-Melifika" in Khmelnitskij. The rehabilitation courses should be taken every month, otherwise the spastic grows and the acquired skills are lost. Now in his 2 years age Matthew has learned to hold his head up, roll over, push the ball with the right hand.

On the 5th day of life Matthew underwent a surgery on his heart in the center of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kyiv (critical coarctation of the aorta). Those doctors, who issued scary but correct diagnosis at the boy's birth, and who made the decisions about the urgent surgeries, – they all gave very little chances for Matthew's life. But time passed and now the kid has sixteen rehabilitation courses with the excellent results! The boy's not slack, he is gaining weight well, he is open to people and smiling – these are the features that are inherent in kids of his age. And if you don't look into the history of his disease, then Matthew is almost healthy and cheerful. You can count the age of the child by the number of rehabilitation courses, and from one side it turns out that his life is all made of rehabilitation. But when his mom plays ball with her son and the red hair angel bursts out laughing - it becomes clear that it is necessary to make all the inconveniences that the boy overcame all the terrible six diagnosis.

Since the rehabilitation is needed each month to collect charitable help we open two courses of fundraising at once. By this time Kachan's family were able to make it on their own as they could, but now their funds are exhausted, so they have to turn for help to the indifferent people. Please, help Matviy– the carrot boy, to become a healthy boy!
