MIBG survey for Matviy

For almost a year, Matviy was at the hospital with neuroblastoma: chemotherapies, surgery, stem cell transplantation. Every time his test results allowed, the boy asked his parents one thing: “Let’s go to the airport! I want so much to watch the airplanes!” And now, when the treatment protocol is complete, Matviy himself has to board a plane and go to Italy for MIBG scan. Unfortunately, such an examination is not performed in Ukraine because of the lack of special isotopes. The price is 522 euros, 17 000 UAH, but the family no longer has money to pay for it.

Matviy fell ill last August. After many complaints of pain in the abdomen, they went to the pediatrician. The abdomen had already been swollen. According to the results of the ultrasound, a tumor process was detected. In Lviv, the diagnosis was made and the doctors of the Cancer Institute confirmed it. Later on the treatment protocol of neuroblastoma was performed at the local hospital. After its completion, Matviy continues supporting therapy and is waiting for the examination the result of which will determine: is it really the end of suffering, or will he need radiotherapy? Knowing it is vital!
