MIBG therapy for Liliia! 3

Liliia is too small to realize what is happening to her. Mom somehow tries to explain why she has to endure painful injections or take bitter "magic" pills. After completing the protocol available in Ukraine our doctors together with the Italian specialists came to the conclusion that MIBG therapy, a special treatment with doses of radioactive iodine, was necessary. European clinics perform this therapy successfully but it is not possible in Ukraine.

In August, thanks to the funds raised on UBB, Liliia completed the first stage of the therapy. Now the girl must get one more cycle, the last one. The Italian clinic in Bergamo is ready to hospitalize Liliia and they sent an invoice of about 8,000 euros. This amount is Liliia’s chance to survive.

Liliia fell ill in December 2015. Her mom noticed that she was pale, lost appetite and had a fever. The little girl was taken to the doctor and at the first examination, a tumor located in the retroperitoneal space was detected. Liliia was immediately hospitalized to the local hospital. Then the girl was sent to the National Cancer Institute for further therapies and an autotransplantation. The final step in the treatment process should be MIBG therapy that the Italian doctors will perform if the family has money to pay the bill. The family doesn’t sit without doing anything but wages in a rural area is too small to earn the necessary amount.
