On December 30, 2022, Sofia was born, and this day should have been the happiest for the Skuratovski family. However, their story took on a difficult and challenging turn. Sofia was born at 34 weeks of pregnancy. At first, the girl was breathing on her own, but two hours after birth, she suddenly stopped breathing. Doctors immediately performed an intubation, put her into a medically induced sleep and connected her to a ventilator. Subsequently, Sofia was diagnosed with hypoxia and spent five months in the intensive care unit, three of which were spent on a ventilator. The child survived pneumonia, three blood transfusions, anemia and tube feeding.

Sofia spent the first year of her life in hospitals, where she continued to fight for her life, facing bronchiolitis, seizures and the flu. Despite all the difficulties, the girl attended massages, the swimming pool and underwent various types of therapy to maintain her condition. However, at the age of one year and two months, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP). Soon Sofia will turn 2 years old, her drooling has already decreased, she has become more mobile and confident. And despite all the difficulties, Sofia remains smiling and positive, although she still cannot walk on her own.

The Skuratovskys have gone through enormous moral and financial exhaustion trying to provide their daughter with the necessary support.
