Myroslav was born in Mykolaiv a month after the outbreak of full-scale war at the height of the Russian offensive. The family was forced to move out of the city, to a house on the territory of a garden society. At the time, Mykolaiv had no water supply and was suffering from constant Russian shelling. So the opportunity to have their own water and autonomous stove heating was a lifesaver for Myroslav and his family.

At the age of 1.8 months, the baby's health deteriorated sharply. All the symptoms pointed to rotavirus, the treatment of which only worsened his general condition. The next day, the baby was taken to the regional polyclinic, from where he was taken by ambulance to the 1st Regional Children's Hospital in Mykolaiv. There, doctors diagnosed the baby with acute ketoacidosis caused by the development of type 1 diabetes. His blood sugar was more than 40 units (with a normal range of 4-5), and an acetone test showed acute intoxication. Myroslav spent 5 days in intensive care. He stayed in the hospital with his mother for more than 3 weeks. After his discharge, he was diagnosed with type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes and was granted a disability.

The family currently lives in the city of Nova Odesa, Mykolaiv region. The circumstances of the disease forced them to move out of the house and into an apartment to make it easier for mom and dad to care for him and to be closer to the city if necessary. Myroslav is already 2.5 years old and undergoes constant insulin therapy. The number of injections reaches 8-10 per day. Such a number of injections, constant changes in the growing body, the fact that the child will not always agree to eat and the tendency to tantrums at this age requires constant monitoring of the blood sugar level of the baby. That is why Myroslav constantly wears glucose monitoring sensors so that his mother or father can react to changes in his blood sugar level at any time. Currently, the family buys them on their own, but financially they are no longer able to continue to do so. Mom has to ask for help. The better the parents are able to monitor and compensate for changes in sugar levels, the fewer consequences of diabetes Myroslav will have.

Myros is a very active, cheerful and sociable kid. He loves animals, playing with other children, Peppa Pig cartoons and books about Mouse. The boy likes to play cashier or doctor, is delighted with riding a bike and jumping on a trampoline. Keeping this cheerfulness is the main mission of parents, and they will be extremely grateful if you help them with this task.
