A place of communication for lonely old people

What could be worse than lonely oldness? An oldness that covers a person within four walls and makes it possible to talk only with memories and black and white photographs. In order to solve the problem of loneliness and uselessness of elderly people, a day club "Second Youth" was created. He has been working since 2001 and has created within his walls a large and friendly “family” of lonely grandparents who need communication, care, and daily social and psychological support.

In order to solve the problem of loneliness and uselessness of elderly people, a day club "Second Youth" was created. He has been working since 2001 and has created within his walls a large and friendly “family” of lonely grandparents who need communication, care, and daily social and psychological support.

From the very beginning of its work, the Club functioned at the funds of a foreign donor, however, unfortunately, since 2019 the grant program has ended. Today only you can help our beneficiaries. At the moment, 35 people constantly attend the Club. A month of visiting the Club by one grandmother is 600 UAH. (including tea drinking, organization of classes of needlework, payment of utilities and rental of the Club premises). For one person it may be a large amount, but for a few, it is already significantly less!

From the beginning of the club's work, elderly people who have retired, who, by the will of fate, have lost their close people and have become lonely, have the opportunity to meet at the Club, engage in creative work, handicrafts, sing and actively spend their leisure time. Over the years, many of them have become family, people who support each other in joy, in grief, and help cope with diseases and problems. Most of all, the grandparents who visit the club want it to work further and give them warmth, a sense of being needed and the most precious thing is the luxury of human communication! After all, communication gives them the opportunity, strength, and desire to live!
