Andrii's dream is medicine

Meet Andrii. He is 12 years old. He is the oldest brother in a large family with three younger brothers and a sister.

Andrii has always been a support to his mother, helping with the children and household chores. However, two years ago, his life changed. After a minor blow to the head during an argument at school, the boy began to experience seizures. After tests, doctors diagnosed a brain tumor. Andrew has already undergone surgery at the Institute of Neurosurgery, followed by a course of chemotherapy at the National Cancer Institute.

But the trials are far from over. Now, he needs treatment with the targeted drug Bevacizumab, which is not funded by the government. The medication is very expensive – 275,400 UAH for three months.

Andrii’s mother is raising the children on her own – after Andrii's biological father passed away, and his stepfather left them. For a single mother with many children, this amount is simply unaffordable.

Andrii doesn't dream of a new gadget or toy for St. Nicholas Day; he dreams of medicine that will help him recover and be with his family again.
