Dream of a sweet childhood

8-year-old Matvii has been living with type 1 diabetes for 5 years already. His childhood passes under constant glucose monitoring, 5–6 insulin injections daily, and restrictions that are difficult to understand even for an adult.
He is an active, intelligent, and very creative boy who loves drawing, sculpting, building with LEGO, dreaming, and enjoying life like all children do. But behind this ordinary childhood joy lies a daily struggle – unstable blood sugar, a weak immune system, illness, nighttime anxiety, and pain from countless finger pricks.
Matvii often asks his mother: "When I grow up, will I not need injections anymore?". The heart of his loving mother breaks into pieces. Like every child, he simply wants to be a child – to run, laugh, play, and dream. His dream is simple yet painful: to live without fear and without pain, and one day to be able to enjoy sweets without injections.
A sensor is not a luxury for him – it is a true lifesaver. Without one, Matvii has to prick his fingers up to 15 times a day. At night the sensor sends an alert when blood sugar drops, and his mother gives him fast carbohydrates so the boy does not fall into a coma. Thanks to the sensor, his mother can finally sleep and feel at ease knowing her child is alright.
Monitoring is especially important during sleep and physical activity, as even Matvii's favorite pastime – swimming – can become a real danger without continuous monitoring.
Your support can make Matvii's life better – without pain, without fear, without complications.
