Little Melania's vision problems began at birth. The baby could not see well, but she was diagnosed only three years later. At a scheduled examination by an ophthalmologist, her parents were shocked by the news: the child had congenital cataracts in both eyes. The girl does not even realize it, because she has never seen the world as it really is.

The only treatment for this disease is surgery and replacement of both lenses. The doctors at the Kyiv Okhmatdyt hospital are ready to perform these surgeries, but the parents need to buy artificial lenses themselves.

In addition to Melania, the family has two other boys. Her large family lives in the village. Parents bring up their children in love, but their daughter's illness does not give the adults peace of mind. Soon the girl will go to the first grade, so it is very important that she writes her first letters confidently looking at her notebook. The children's father also has a disability, and it is difficult for him to find a job, and such a sum is unattainable for them. The mother is asking caring people to give Melania a chance to see the world.
