Six months ago, Nazarii was swimming and speaking English, but now he cannot even swallow on his own. The reason is autoimmune encephalitis. The immune system mistakenly attacks healthy brain cells, and the boy loses his skills. The drug Bioven helps to stop this process.
In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation and the charity operator Pomagaem Charitable Foundation dated August 31, 2020, and supplementary agreement No. 21. 311 dated 23.04.2025, the project “Hope to Return to Normal Life” was posted on the website dobro.ua with the aim of attracting charitable donations to pay for the treatment of Fedorkiv Nazarii.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds collected on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation (dobro.ua) to purchase medicines for the boy. Therefore, according to letters No. 214 dated May 29, 2025, and No. 375 dated July 24, 2025, we received the collected amount of UAH 50,745.00 (fifty thousand seven hundred forty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and UAH 38,355.00 (thirty-eight thousand three hundred fifty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's account and continued fundraising on the dobro.ua platform.
In June of this year, we purchased the drug “Bioven” for Nazarii in the amount of 50,745.00 UAH (fifty thousand seven hundred forty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks), in July we supported the boy with medicines for a total amount of 30,627.43 UAH (thirty thousand six hundred twenty-seven hryvnias, 43 kopecks), and in October we also helped the boy with medicines worth a total of 7,727.57 UAH (seven thousand seven hundred twenty-seven hryvnias, 57 kopecks).
Nazarii is currently at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lviv, undergoing a routine checkup. He's feeling fine physically, but he's still having problems with seizures. Although these seizures don't cause him to lose consciousness, an encephalogram showed that certain seizure activity occurs every 5-6 minutes. In this regard, the child was prescribed a course of immunoglobulin for three months — eight vials per month.
The family planned to return home for the holidays, but over the past 15 months, it is still unclear whether this will be possible.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the child's needs, and the project is still raising funds.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and the UBB team for their many years of cooperation!
