Imagine a child who is afraid of their own shadow, who doesn't know what a hug is, who has seen too much for their young age and relives these traumas even in their dreams. These are the children who come to our Center for Socio-Psychological Rehabilitation of Children in Kyiv. Their childhood was stolen by cruelty, indifference, and coldness. Each child carries their own story of pain, and our mission is to find the key to their closed heart. Here, thanks to the sincere care, boundless patience, and daily efforts of our social educators, they can finally take their first step towards a safe and happy childhood.
Small miracles happen within these walls every day. A boy who was silent and afraid to look at adults takes an educator's hand for the first time. A girl who knew only shouting laughs so loudly that her joy fills the hallway. A drawing appears – not a dark blot, but a bright sun and a cozy home.
Our educators are not just staff; they are heroes saving children's hearts every single day. They learn to understand the language of averted eyes, find words when there seem to be none, and become role models to look up to. They create a space where a child can simply be a child again: play hide-and-seek, draw, mold clay, celebrate a birthday with a real cake and candles, and learn new things.
But for this fragile reality to exist – for the Center's doors to stay open, for the rooms to be warm, and for our hero-educators to be available around the clock (because a crisis doesn't keep a schedule) – we need your help.
Become a part of this project! Your support will fund round-the-clock work of a social educator for one month and help cover utility costs. Support our children and give them faith in tomorrow.
