Keep the Ability to Walk

Valia has been living with a serious condition since childhood — polycystic kidney disease affecting both kidneys, which led to chronic kidney disease. In 2023, she underwent a kidney transplant, with her mother becoming the donor. Since the transplant, Valia has required lifelong immunosuppressive medication and regular medical follow-up.

The transplant was a major milestone, but it did not mark the end of her health challenges. Years of illness also affected other organs and body systems, particularly her musculoskeletal system. Over time, her walking became increasingly difficult, and she developed a limp accompanied by severe pain.

This spring, doctors diagnosed Valia with bilateral grade III coxarthrosis, a severe degeneration of both hip joints. In May, she successfully underwent a total hip replacement of her left hip. The surgery brought significant relief, but to complete her recovery, she now needs a replacement of her right hip joint. This operation will help restore equal leg length, improve her gait, prevent further complications, and allow her to live without constant pain.

For many years, Valia enjoyed oriental dancing. Today, her greatest dream is simply to walk freely again — without pain, without limping, and without relying on a wheelchair.

We are raising funds to purchase a high-quality prosthesis for her right hip replacement surgery. Every donation brings Valia one step closer to completing her treatment and returning to an active life.
