May there always be light in the Babansk school

In a specialized boarding school in Cherkasy Oblast’, children could be faced without a basic in modern society - electricity. Therefore, the staff are looking to raise funds for the installation of electric meters, automatic switches, panels and transformers. The students of the school will be left without electricity if funds aren’t raised. The old meters don’t function correctly and there is a requirement to change them. It should be covered by the government but unfortunately, they have not provided the finances to change the meters and spare parts. This is why we need to act together to help these vulnerable children continue to be cared for.

The Babansk Specialized Boarding School is an educational, socio-psychological and rehabilitation complex for children with intellectual disabilities. The institution provides general education, social assistance and rehabilitation and preparing children for an independent life.

There are 88 children at the school, including 9 orphans and children deprived of parental care under guardianship, 6 children with disabilities, 25 children from large families. All the children are from Cherkasy Oblast’: Umansky, Zhashkovsky, Khristinovsky, Talnovsky regions.

The main goal of the special school is the integration of children with intellectual disabilities into society. The school provides following vocational training for its students: sewing, woodworking, agriculture and vegetable growing. The school has equipment for milk processing and its own mini bakery, which provides children with fresh bread and bakery products.

The administration of the institution requested our help to raise funds to prevent the electricity shut down in the school in the fall. We ask you to support this project, so that they don’t cut electricity in the boarding school!
