The goal of this project is to raise money for the purchase of sensors for monitoring heart rate and oxygen saturation for infants in "Okhmatdyt" National Children's Hospital. Around 600 of such sensors are needed per year. Thanks to every fundraising project we can purchase and give to "Ohkmatdyt" around a hundred of them. Every device is very individual in use. During the nursing process of every preterm-born infant 2-3 sensors are needed. Your help to this project is a saved life of such child. Please, support this project and let the heart of every child beat!

Consequently three times less babies receive these sensors, than are brought and needed. Meanwhile every year there are more and more children born preterm. Prematurely born children need not only the tender and constant love and care of parents, but also the monitoring and the support of vital functions – breathing and heartbeat. Because of the immaturity of children's bodies there are very often disorders of these functions up to respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest.

It is vital to constantly monitor the pulse of a premature baby, because the pulse is very weak. Regular medical equipment is not suitable for such patients. Special extra-sensitive sensors to monitor the heart rate are needed, so that the doctors could be sure that the level is sufficient for the normal life-giving cycle of the child.

The monitoring and the control of these functions is possible with the use of special devices – pulse oximeters. Duration of pulse oximetry depends on the maturity of the child, the nature of his illness. The child lives, grows and develops under the control of pulse oximeter. An important detail is the pulse oximetry is the sensor. These sensors are very needed in the intensive care nursing department of very preterm infants of NDSB "OKHMATDET", where about 300 premature born children with the weight from 500 grams to 2,5 kg receive treatment and are nursed. In the process of nursing of every premature born child 2-3 sensors are needed, thus around 600-700 sensors are needed annually. Nowadays technology can save lives and health of our tiniest children. The quality of care is determined by the efficiency and safety of all technologies...
