Bohdan is 7 years old and his whole life is a story about the fight against the disease. The child was born prematurely due to an intrauterine infection of unknown origin. Over the years, the boy gained experience in both successful treatment, underwent several complex life-saving operations.

Every day of the baby is physical exercise and classes in the verticalizer – for him it is a vital necessity. Regular rehabilitation courses significantly improve the boy's physical and emotional condition. The next rehabilitation was scheduled for May 2022, but...

"We were forced to leave the Donetsk region in April 2022. It was scary to leave. I thought where I could go with such a child. But my friend insisted that we leave the city and she would help us with the housing payment. And now we rent an apartment in Kyiv, which our friends help us to pay for. Our most important need is regular and high-quality rehabilitation. At home, we do physical therapy for Bohdan every day and put him on a verticalizer. For the effect to be maximal, the child needs rehabilitation 4 times a year in rehabilitation centers. But we don't have money for that. Cerebral palsy is a lifelong diagnosis. And you have to fight all your life. To win new opportunities and not lose old ones. Children like Bohdan have other achievements and other milestones. And, of course, our dream is for Bohdan to learn to sit, walk, and take care of himself on his own. My child really needs rehabilitation in a rehabilitation center with professionals. My son has grown a lot in the year since leaving home and he needs tendon stretches to prevent contractures. We also really need specialists for mental development, such as a speech therapist, an occupational therapist, and a psychologist," says Natalya, the Bohdan's mother.
