New life in the new year

At the age of 14, Danylo got injured in kickboxing training – as a consequence, a tumor developed in his leg. The pain was restless. After numerous examinations, experts issued a verdict – osteogenic sarcoma.

Later on, the teenagers whole life changed and merged into one nightmare: 16 chemotherapy treatments, nine surgeries. For two years in a row, Danylo spent the Christmas holidays in the hospital. With a dropper by the bed instead of a beautiful Christmas tree. The disease, aggressive bone cancer, stole two years of a 17-year-old boy’s life. The disease also took away his leg that had to be amputated because cancer affected it so badly.

During the long treatment in the hospital, the guy has only one consolation – his new programming hobby. To distract from the sad daily routine in the hospital, Danylo indulged in IT technologies and mastered various programs independently. After leaving the hospital, Danylo sees himself as a programmer who will develop new applications and introduce modern technologies in millions of people’s lives.
Danylo’s story inspires many Ukrainians and the IT company that has already made a donation for his treatment and has agreed to support his training in the future – its employees believe in the future IT specialist’s potential and prospects.

But for Danylo to get a new profession, he first needs a prosthesis worth more than a million UAH. The state will pay a part of the bill. The family must find the rest. The boy’s mother maintains fund rising pages on social networks, appeals to people and companies, to everyone who can help.
