MIBG scanning for Liliia!
Liliia is too small to realize what is happening to her. Mom somehow tries to explain why she has to endure painful injections or take bitter "magic" pills. The girl was hospitalized for almost a year before she completed a treatment protocol. The final step is a precise examination, MIBG scanning, making it possible to ensure that all the cancer cells were destroyed. Unfortunately, in Ukraine it is not performed, so one has to find a hospital abroad.
The Italian hospital in Bergamo is ready to accept Liliia with a bill of 522 euro but the parents don’t have money… During a year of disease, the family has spent every penny and salaries in their village are too small to collect the required amount.
Liliia fell ill in December 2015. Her mom noticed that she was pale, lost appetite and had a fever. The little girl was taken to the doctor and at the first examination, a tumor located in the retroperitoneal space was detected. Liliia was immediately hospitalized to the local hospital. Then the girl was sent to the National Cancer Institute for further therapies and an autotransplantation. The final step in the treatment process should be MIBG scanning that the Italian doctors will perform if the family has money to pay the bill.
Liliia’s parents ask to help their daughter to have this examination. It is vitally important for them to know that the disease has disappeared!
