One fight for twins
Tiny twin girls Sofiyka and Alina were born very early – at the 26th week of pregnancy – weighing 800 and 920 grams. Literally from the first seconds of their lives, their struggle for life began. And it was not easy at all.
In Sofia, there was a cardiac arrest, the girl was given a blood transfusion, and subsequent test results and examinations revealed hydrocephalus, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, convulsive syndrome, and as a result – cerebral palsy.
Alina's diagnosis turned out to be much more difficult: hydrocephalus followed by bypass surgery, she received blood transfusions twice and was diagnosed with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, musculoskeletal disorders and strabismus. Over time, Alina underwent bypass surgery to cure her hydrocephalus.
In total, the girls were in the hospital for 4 months from the day they were born, and now they were discharged home. Everything seemed to be working out at last, because the houses and walls were being treated. However, the doctors said that they could not do without constant courses of rehabilitation (exercise therapy, massages, paraffin and hippotherapy). The girls are now 2 and a half years old, they have already undergone many courses of treatment, each of which brings results. However, the underdevelopment of the bronchi with each ARVI leads to severe bronchitis and pneumonia and compulsory hospital treatment.
Parents who are financially exhausted are simply not able to pay for the rehabilitation of their daughters on their own, so they turn to you with a request to support the twins in their joint struggle.
