Untill he turned 8, the word “cancer” had been associated for him with an animal that lives in the river or the Cancer Constellation in the sky. But it turned out this word has one more meaning and can be very horrible. A year and a half ago the boy was diagnosed with “orbital rhabdomyosarcoma” – a rare and aggressive tumor. Olezhka bore with fortitude all the treatment stages –tumor removal, chemotherapy and radiation. But in four months – tumor recurrence, and the doctors’ words: “It is impossible to help you in Ukraine”. So Olezhka found himself in Istanbul. The three stages of treatment cost tens of thousands of dollars – unreal amounts for a little family, consisting of a mother and a son. Save Olezhka! Save the mother’s only son!

Olezhka’s eyelid on the left eye became droopy a year and a half ago. Medical examination revealed a tumor in the orbit, which was later removed in the Filatov Institute, Odessa. Then he underwent radiation therapy 18 times and 4 sessions of chemotherapy. The disease went away after eight months of treatment, but only for a short time. Eyelid became droopy again, an operation was carried out and medical comments were given, saying about impossibility to cure the disease in Ukraine. While searching for the clinics abroad, the tumor started growing with a lightning speed, pushing the eye out of the orbit, later the boy could not close his eye at all. The Turkish Memorial Hospital agreed to admit Olezhka, exhausted from daily headaches, and gave him a chance to live.

The boy with his mother has been being treated in this hospital for three months now. After five sessions of chemotherapy the tumor reduced by 80 per cent!

Today Olezha’s life is limited by the hospital walls and the rented apartment. It takes a long time for the organism to recover after each session of chemotherapy, he can hardly walk in a fresh air for half an hour a day. The only thing left of his old healthy life is his hobby, which helps him beguile the time in the hospital – stories of superheroes. Olezhka has a huge collection of superhero figures and encyclopedias about superheroes. The boy knows everything about them, and he can tell anyone about them all day! And now sitting behind him on the hospital bed are Batman, Spider Man and Iron Man making him not feeling lonely.

Support of his family, friends and unfamiliar good people, thanks to whom the boy has got a chance to live, do not let him break his spirit and give up. The next stage before the bone marrow autotransplantation – radiation therapy.
The total amount of unpaid bills is more than $ 50,000

Do not leave the boy halfway to recovery! Save Olezhka!

At UBB we collect part of the amount - 200 000 hryvnia.
