Little Yulia was born healthy. However, after a while parents began to notice that something was wrong: the girl didn’t move enough and didn’t hold her head. They started visiting different doctors. Little Yulia was examined by variety of doctors. Nobody saw any problem related to his specialization. Only a neurologist noticed the symptoms of hydrocephalus. Detailed examinations revealed narrowing of the opening in the occipital bone. If a timely medical assistance is not provided in time, a patient will suffer from high cranial pressure, deafness, and even respiratory arrests!

In modern medicine this defect can be eliminated surgically. The medical consumables required for the surgery cost about 10 thousand UAH and this numerous family doesn’t have such an amount.

After the examinations at the Institute of Neurosurgery a surgery was prescribed to enlarge the opening in the occipital bone. This procedure requires a lot of special medical materials and medicines. The parents have to buy them themselves because they are not available at the hospital.

For an ordinary family who has many children and comes from a small village such amount of money is too large. Parents ask for help because they cannot cope on their own.

But this surgery must be performed because only after it Yulia will be able to live a normal life and to be like her peers.
