Surgery for Serhii is his hope to walk

Serhii’s mom had been waiting for children for many years. And only when she almost lost hope, her long-awaited son was born. Thirteen years passed and the cancer wanted to steal her happiness. The doctors have started Serhii’s treatment but his mother is in despair: where she can get money to purchase the necessary materials for surgery?! The total amount of more than 20 000 UAH is almost annual salary of Serhii’s dad in their small town.

His mom has a serious disease of the joints and she cannot work. They say that health cannot be bought but parents of ill kids know very well that their children’s lives depend on whether they have money or not.

Serhii fell ill suddenly: he had severe pain after hip injury. Swelling and pain only intensified over time. After a thorough examination, a tumor was revealed. In the regional hospital, a preliminary diagnosis was made: osteosarcoma. At the National Cancer Institute, it was confirmed. Long treatment according to the protocol began. In the immediate future, a surgery should be performed: the tumor with a part of affected bones should be removed and an endoprosthesis should be installed. This surgery requires a lot of expensive medical materials but the state does not provide anything.

Without the help of kind-hearted people the family will not be able to save their only son!
