UPD: dear donors! It was planned that the operation for Ania would be carried out in the capital's "International Center for Neurosurgery", however, according to the information from the Operator of help, there have been changes and it will take place in "OKHMATDYT". Detailed information and a letter from the author of the project can be found in the "News" and "Reports and documents" sections.

Scoliosis is not a harmless change in posture. Severe scoliosis is now slowly killing Anechka Vovkodav from the village of Kompaneyevka, Kirovograd Region. However, it can be stopped if a rescue operation is carried out in time. But the parents are not able to raise funds for it – they need your help!

Until the age of one and a half, Ania's mother and father considered themselves to be the happy parents of a healthy child, and then the baby began to rapidly lose her skills. Convulsions began. Mom turned to a neurologist. An antiepileptic drug was prescribed, but the effect was nil. Then they went over Levitsitam, Walprokom, Depakin. The last drug compensated for the convulsions, and Anya is taking it now.

Endless wanderings began in hospitals: "Okhmatdyt", genetic centers in Kharkov and Krivoy Rog. All analyzes and examinations were normal. The doctors agreed: cerebral palsy, tetraparesis, episyndrome. Until the age of 7, Ania underwent rehabilitation in Kropyvnytskyi, then they began to go to the International Rehabilitation Clinic, the "Center for Brain Stimulation". Once every 2 months, Anya undergoes a course of exercise therapy and massage with a specialist and constantly works with her parents at home. Only at the age of 10 a neurologist advised to conduct laboratory tests for Rett syndrome. The diagnosis was confirmed: it was the genetic disorder that caused Anya's cerebral palsy.

Anya likes to be with children. Although she cannot speak, she emotionally gives feedback: she understands the addressed speech and “responds” with her eyes. Likes to watch "Fixies". She loves to ride in a car: as soon as the car stops, he immediately demonstrates his displeasure. Like all children, she adores sweets.

And recently, the child's condition has deteriorated sharply. Now Anшa is 12 years old, and the growth spurt provoked a negative trend in scoliosis. The spine was curved before, but now the child is literally folded in half – the angle of curvature of the spine is 54 degrees. Now Anшa cannot sit, stand and walk for a long time. Previously, she moved independently, now – only with support and no more than 15 meters.

The parents turned to the Kyiv International Center for Neurosurgery. The specialists clarified the diagnosis: nerve-paralytic scoliosis - and explained: if now you do not carry out the operation with the installation of the structure on the spine, then the lungs and heart will be compressed, and not only the health, but the girl's life will be in jeopardy.

Anechka's parents are forced to turn to caring people, because the amount of the operation is completely unaffordable for them. The youngest child is growing up in the family. And Ania's father has a disability of group 3 (the consequences of an occupational injury). Friends, please help Ania to sit, stand, walk without pain and without fear to look into tomorrow!
