"My name is Elvira, I am 14 years old. Since birth I have had hip dislocation of the joint, cerebral palsy and kyphoscoliosis, shortening of the right lower limb by 4.53 cm", so began a story about herself a girl, whose mother turned to us with a request Elvira is the only child of her mother. The girl's father died in a car accident when the baby was only 10 months old. Since that time, all worries about her daughter fell on the shoulders of her mother, Maryana.

Elvira was born on time. But the birth was difficult, the girl did not breathe on her own, there was asphyxia and hypoxia. So, under a ventilator, Elvira spent the first month of her life. The mother came to her daughter in the intensive care unit, brought milk. After discharge, the baby's health problems did not end. After a while, she entered Okhmatdet's surgery with osteomyelitis of the hip joint. Three months later they were discharged, but the second thigh began to swell. Again hospitalization, again examinations...

Later there was a consultation with a neurologist and a visit to the Ukrainian Medical Center for the Rehabilitation of Children with Organic Lesions of the Nervous System. Doctors discovered a hematoma and diagnosed cerebral palsy. Since then, every three months my mother takes Elvira there for consultations. "And everything would have been fine, but at the age of 7, – Elvira continues her story, – before going to the first grade, I had my first seizure of epilepsy. And, in addition to the above diagnoses, another one was added – epilepsy. I was prescribed anticonvulsants. For seven years now I have been taking them, but to this day there is a selection of drugs. This is an individual and time-consuming process".

The girl went to school as an ordinary child. Her mother, of course, was very worried. The teacher and classmates were sympathetic, always trying to help and support Elvira. There were few girls in the class, so Elvira made friends with the boys. Despite the fact that the children have already grown up, they continue to be friends.

The girl is now prescribed a number of drugs. Mom can not always get them at the pharmacy for free with a prescription, some have to be bought at their own expense. Mom Maryana is not able to work, because her daughter needs care. The mother's grandparents help and support the girl.

Elvira is a calm and sympathetic girl who loves animals. At home she has a budgie, a cat named Cocos and a lapdog. The girl takes care of them as much as she can: she will pour water and feed the parrot, she will regret cat, and they go for a walk with the dog with her mother.

"I never stop believing, that everything will be fine with me. Yes, I am a special child. Yes, I'm different, but like all children, I believe in miracles".
