Ramps for people with disabilities

Charity Center "Stephanie" works at Charity Fund "Social Partnership". More than 500 homeless who need help come here every day. A significant part of the people who came for support is disabled - over 20%. This is why the equipment of the entrance with a ramp for wheelchairs is a very important issue. The construction is not cheap, and the Charity Fund cannot afford its installment.

Clothing, food, medical care – these are the first services, which the disadvantaged people get, when they come to our center. There are also showers, laundry room and hairdresser for them. As a whole, the Charity Center provides more than 20 free services.

Behind the entrance of the Charity Center "Stephanie" the needy people can receive everything for their urgent needs. But, unfortunately, there are some obstacles for some of them that stand on the way – a few steps separate these people from the cherished help. Some of the disabled people physically can’t climb on the porch. In these moments, people with special needs overcome the inner suffering of their own inadequacy and worthlessness. Every time they need to be brought in with the wheelchair with the help of several people, but it is hard to help this way all the time, and there is not enough people and time for this.

In order to resolve this problem, we need to install ramps. In order to alleviate the plight of these people and to allow them freely to use our services, we need to collect 16 561 UAH for the construction of the ramps. This way each person with a disability who attends Charity Center "Stephanie", would be able to feel, that we have taken care of him/her.

We have no right, referring to the nation-wide poverty, to refuse love to our neighbors, for we deprive, first of all, ourselves. We will not allow people in wheelchairs to feel themselves as "being the third grade!"
