Almost 740 thousand single elderly people live in Ukraine today. Unfortunately, only 200 thousand of them receive social assistance and support. Others have to survive on their own. But besides loneliness, older people are faced with diseases that forever make them hostages of their own apartment and bed. These are severe incurable diseases that make a person a palliative patient.

Since 2011, the HRCF «Social Assistance Service» has been implementing the Palliative Care at Home project. During this time, many elderly people received social services, medical and psychological services. In addition to social support in the framework of the project, they receive personal hygiene products: diapers, disposable diapers, wet wipes, etc. These things help them, firstly, to live a better life, and secondly, support their psychological health, preventing them from falling into the abyss helplessness and shame for their own weakness. Thirdly, the prices for hygiene products are very high, and they are not able to buy the necessary amount of hygiene products due to a small pension.

Let us all help together those who have no relatives, who are left alone with their illness and loneliness. Those who, unfortunately, are the most vulnerable and powerless in the country. Thanks to any amount of your charitable donation, we can maintain the quality of life of an elderly person at a level worthy of life, not existence!
