Diapers and diapers for the elderly

The lives of people with limited mobility and bedriddenness are complicated by the simplest things that seem trivial to healthy people. They spend time and effort on routine tasks such as cutting and placing linen, adhesive strips and duvet covers in bed, washing and drying disposable nappies. For people who spend most of their time in bed, support with nappies and diapers is especially important.

Each of them needs about 60 diapers every month.

Among those we support are elderly people who do not receive state assistance for diapers due to various circumstances. Either their children are far away and cannot help, or they themselves are in difficult circumstances. Such people cannot receive state assistance due to various deficiencies in their documents, but in reality they are lonely and in need of support.

The average pension of these people is only UAH 3,500-4,000, and the cost of a pack of diapers is about UAH 500. Thus, they spend almost half of their pension to cover only basic needs.

For over 20 years, Caritas Kyiv has been supporting elderly people in difficult life situations. We understand their needs and provide the necessary support. However, one of the biggest problems now is the lack of diapers and nappies for bedridden elderly people and people with serious illnesses.

We are calling on you to help us raise funds to purchase diapers and nappies for bedridden elderly people with serious illnesses. It is important for them to feel that their dignity is respected, that they are properly cared for and that their needs are taken into account.
