Support the graduate from the orphanage

Have you ever thought about what happens when children leave an orphanage? Without parental support and care they are left totally dependent on themselves for their financial and social wellbeing. As a result, they feel inferior to their peers who have the benefit of financial and emotional support of their families.

This summer, for fifteen orphans from the Ternopil region, (Nove Selo, Berezhany, Koropets, Ternopil) there is no one to give them parental advice or to help them acquire the necessities needed for living in dorms, because there are neither parents nor funds available for these children. They will leave the orphanages, which have been their safe homes since early childhood, and enter an adult world. These young people need our moral, psychological, and most importantly—our financial support, which they are unable to receive from institutions.

To begin independent life, the graduates need essentials such as blankets, towels, cooking utensils, an iron, shoes and a traveling bag (backpack). Children from orphanages are unable to buy all these things. Those who have parents do not need to worry about ordinary everyday things. These items are provided for them by their parents. But for the graduating orphan it becomes a great challenge. The graduating orphans cannot concentrate on the learning process of their continuing education programs because they are faced with a far more immediate and important question of where and how to acquire the necessary things in order to be able to live independently.

The Foundation “Orphans’ Future” unites former graduated orphans and annually conducts a meeting with them to discuss the challenges and prospects after graduation. During this meeting, each student personally receives the items named above.

In spite of the economic situation in Ukraine, it our hope that each graduating orphan will receive financial aid and not feel isolated and left behind. Our goal is to help them to begin independent life with new acquaintances, attending a college or university while engaging fully in an educational process moving toward a bright future.

It is possible to become a mentor to these orphans and to morally support them while they are adapting to a new social life by teaching them family relationships, budgeting, personal relationships, engaging in joint business or travel, and assisting them in training and employment.

Please help these young men and women because they have nowhere else to turn to in order to get these essentials for their new adult lives.
