Egor is a long-awaited child, born on time, but due to a chain of negative events (mother’s vaccination at the initial gestational age, an accident, the threat of miscarriage, premature rupture of amniotic fluid, anhydrous umbilical 17-hour entanglement, the primary weakness of labor activity), the challenges appeared. So that the boy was born, mother and doctors had to try very, very hard. The baby immediately went to the intensive care unit, where he spent the first weeks of his life. A dropper in the head, lists of drugs, oxygen, nutrition through a probe – this world was not very hospitable to Egor.

Next 2 months he spent in neonatology, with a bunch of surveys, consultations, new diagnoses. Where did the force come from to the mother to survive that difficult period when she saw her baby only during the feeding time? And each time, when the child was separated from his mother he became blue from the crying. And every time the nurses were afraid of the cessation of breathing. At 4.5 months, the child did not turn over on his own, again the hospital, Egor was discharged with recommendations for getting the group of disability due to tetraparesis.

Egor’s father took his son and his wife home and with this, considered his mission accomplished, his plans did not include to devote the whole life to a disabled person. Mom selflessly began to raise her son alone – massage courses, rehabilitation courses in different clinics, hippotherapy, dolphin therapy, all the possibilities were used in full force. All this, of course, brought results: not immediately, very slowly, Egor began to acquire skills, first, he crawled, then he stood with the support, at the age of 4.5 he made his first step. Not without surgeries.

Egor is almost 15 now, he walks on his own, but with challenges, he does not flex his knees good, he pulls one foot a little, he rolls over when walking. In spite of contractures, he has working hands and can take care of himself, writes, but fine motor skills are weak, he does not know how to tie shoelaces. Egor studies at a specialized school for children with lesions of the central nervous system and the musculoskeletal system according to a general program. Egor also swims, only a year ago he learned how to swim, but he already won prizes at competitions of a city, regional and All-Ukrainian scale.

Egor is a very positive, bright, kind, responsive person. Now the boy has a period of intensive growth, so as not to pull the muscles and tendons that are not keeping up with bone growth, rehabilitation is necessary. Egor is already big, withstands heavy loads, so he needs an intensive rehabilitation course. The boy has waited in a rehabilitation center, where they have already prescribed exercises taking into account the age and possibilities of the child.

Earlier at UBB we already collected funds for Egor. View the previous project you can by the link.
