Hear, feel and understand

The long-awaited baby has appeared in the family. Parents with great enthusiasm are making plans for the university's future of their son and dreaming of who their daughter would become when she grows up. But the obstacle to everything is a deafness diagnosis. How to live on? What should the child do to speak? Will he or she ever be able to speak? These and many other issues make parents very perplexed and confused. After completing the stage of hearing replacement, the family should pass to aural/oral rehabilitation – to teach the child to hear and speak. Only after a long rehabilitation process will the child be able to fully socialize and live a fully active life.

For over 6 years, the only free of charge children's rehabilitation center "Vidchui" is functioning in the public organization "Vidchui" in Ukraine – this is the place where the family of a hearing-impaired child has a chance to feel capable of any accomplishments. 

The Center provides comprehensive services for the development and correction of hearing and speech function for children from 0 to 7 years. Families attend individual and group classes with special educators: sound trainers, speech therapists, psychologists, art therapists, vocal and music educators according to programs designed considering the individual characteristics of the child. In addition to the speech-correction program, the center also has a school preparation course and a parenting school.

About 120 families from all over Ukraine receive counseling every week. Our wards are those families that cannot afford private, expensive classes. The uniqueness of the center is his team. More than 50% of the professional correctional educators in combination with the mother of children with hearing impairment. They, like no one, know how to help families.
