12-year-old Vania has hearing loss. His friends were scattered around the world by the war, his circle of social connections was destroyed by the invaders, methodically bombarding ChasivYar month after month. Therefore, Vania’s whole life is now in social medias and in remote lessons. High-quality hearing aids will help him to study, communicate and make new friends.

Vania is the only and long-awaited child. Throughout the pregnancy, Tatiana was threatened by the miscarriage. Doctors did everything possible to ensure that the baby was born on time, but at 31 weeks labor began. The baby had a cardiac arrest and breathing, he was resuscitated. The doctors injected the medicineto open the lungs; perhaps this medicine provoked hearing problems.

Vania's teacher in kindergarden first noticed hearing loss when he was 3 years old. She accidentally dropped the tambourine: all the children were frightened, except for Vania.

Parents examined their son first in Kramatorsk, then in Odessa and Kyiv. Doctors were unanimous: bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Vania was ordered to wear hearing aids. Parents bought them7 years ago having collected the required amount. Development immediately went sharply forward.

But these devices are outdated, worn out, Vania does not distinguish hissing sounds in them, and, therefore, cannot pronounce them. Because of this, speech suffers, which makes it difficult to communicate with people, to study at school. This year, after the examination, Vanya was prescribed new devices worth UAH 119 300.

Ivan misses his childhood friends very much. In Dnipro, where he has been living with his family since September in a rented apartment, he has not yet found any friends. Therefore, all communication is reduced to social networks and remote lessons in their native school No. 15 of ChasivYar, which has now suffered due to shelling.

Vania's family did not leave the city until the last – they were afraid to leave their 92-year-old great-grandmother in Bakhmut. Finally she was able to be transported to Volyn before a rocket hit her apartment, completely destroying it.

Vania and his mother now learn about the fate of acquaintances from TV: they recently saw that their lonely neighbor with a disability was evacuated. Vania cried when he watched this news story. The boy dreams that the war will end, that his apartment survived and that he and his parents could return home.

Vanya lives with his mother, he hardly see his father, who works in the Odessa region. For a family with the status of a IDP that has lost all its property, the amount of UAH 119 300 is unbearable. Let's help Vaniato hear, communicate, explore the world!
