For a long time, doctors could not figure out why Yulia suddenly started feeling unwell. The girl felt pain in her legs, she was nauseated, and her hands were shaking. Earlier, her mother had noticed that her daughter was drinking too much water, but it didn't seem too bad. Even the local hospital could not make a diagnosis. Only in Ternopil, when the girl was sent to the regional hospital, could they find the exact cause. Yulia was diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes.
Now Yulia is thirteen. Every six months she goes to the hospital for rehabilitation procedures. The girl tries to live an active life – she goes in for sports and spends a lot of time outdoors. She studies hard at school and graduates from the eighth grade. But the disease makes itself felt. There are three other children in her family. Her parents cannot provide Yulia with all the necessary means to compensate for her diabetes. Even the availability of sensors for a few months is a financial burden for parents. And Yulia needs to feel like an ordinary person who can dream and achieve her goals. We can help her on this path.
