Let's give warm water to mothers with children

Single mothers who, despite difficult circumstances, have chosen to give birth to their children deserve special support. They face many challenges, including lack of financial stability, emotional isolation, and sometimes lack of access to basic livelihoods.

When the war started, we have begun to accept single mothers from the occupied territories. These are mothers who lost their homes, their jobs, friends, family members and were forced to start life from scratch.

Our Mother and Child Center has been operating since 2013 and some household appliances, unfortunately, are out of order and cannot be repaired. That's what happened to the boiler. The new boiler for the Mother and Child Center created by the Charitable Foundation Aspern in Kyiv, is critically important because of the special needs of residents – single mothers with children and pregnant women who have lost their home and experienced violence.

Pregnant women and mothers with young children need regular access to hot water for personal hygiene, which is an essential condition for maintaining the health of both mother and child. Cleanliness helps prevent infections that can be dangerous for babies and pregnant women.

The Center can simultaneously accommodate 5 families with small children, so hot water is necessary for washing children's clothes, cooking and sanitizing children's dishes. Meeting these basic needs becomes extremely difficult without hot water.

Ensuring the constant availability of hot water in the Center is not only a basic need, but also a vital condition for maintaining the health, hygiene and emotional stability of vulnerable categories of women and children.
