About a thousand of babies become patients of the newborn pathology department of the Rivne regional children's hospital. For half of them the intravenous drugs are required, and it is impossible to provide this without syringe pumps. The available equipment has become obsolete. Money necessary for purchasing new equipment can be obtained from nowhere.

According to norms, the department should have at least 15 syringe pumps, but there are only 2 for now. They are used apparatus, that were given to the hospital as charity. They are worked-off and get broken too often. As the procedure can't be interrupted, the doctors solve this problems on their own. They seat one of the parents near the baby, and hand him or her a stopwatch. Meanwhile the health care provider continues the intravenous counting drops one by one using an ordinary dropper. Of course, this way is less effective than mechanical intravenous. The doctors work in extreme conditions, where everyday medical child care equals a deed, and the successful treatment equals a true miracle.

To be able to save more babies, the hospital requires a new syringe pump: “Perfusor Compact C” from “Brown”. It costs 22 905 UAH. The hospital administration has addressed the local government multiple times, but still has got no response. This is why we only can hope for you. It is you who can save the lives of hundreds of children, who come to the Rivne hospital!
