Oleksandra was born with Apert Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects skull development. The syndrome also causes an increase in intracranial pressure, which can result in headaches, nausea and vomiting, and even breathing difficulties.

Fortunately, these symptoms can be relieved through surgery, where specialized plates are installed in the skull bones. While the surgeons at Okhmatdyt Hospital are capable of performing this procedure successfully, the hospital lacks the necessary plates. Unfortunately, Oleksandra’s family cannot afford the cost of the plates themselves.

Despite her serious condition, Oleksandra remains a lively girl, always smiling and with a great passion for life. Her mother is appealing to everyone who cares, "I am asking for your help to give my daughter the hope for a happy childhood!".
