Give Nikita and Arina the Chance to See More

Siblings Nikita and Arina were born with severe visual impairments. They both have a complex diagnosis: congenital cataract (operated), strabismus, nystagmus, myopia, astigmatism, and optic atrophy. The main problem is nystagmus — involuntary eye movements that make it impossible to keep focus. It cannot be treated, which means the children will never see like others. Despite this, they study, undergo treatment on time, work hard, and strive to remain as independent as possible.

Nikita is a very intelligent and curious boy. At school, he does not want to fall behind his fully sighted classmates and studies diligently. To see the board clearly, he must take photos of the tasks even while sitting at the front desk. Due to constant overexertion, his vision is deteriorating, and large amounts of educational materials are accessible only when enlarged or viewed through a magnifying glass.
Arina is a creative and imaginative girl who enjoys drawing, modeling, and assembling puzzles. She will start first grade next year, but it is already clear that it will be difficult for her to perceive school materials due to low vision.
