Give childhood to Artem!
The young Marshuk family waited happily for the birth of their child. Everything was going good, including tests, ultrasound, screening; nothing portended bad times ahead, until once mother felt bad. The parents went to the hospital in a panic. The doctors told them they did not know what to do, the baby’s dad couldn’t believe such words. Then, Artem was born. He was born prematurely at 33 weeks, little and weak. He endured a few days under reviving apparatuses, constant droppers and injections. After the maternity hospital, the mother and her baby went to the neonatal pathology department where doctors struggled for him for a month.
Artem recovered from pneumonia, gained weight, learned to eat on his own over time. They were discharged home. Next regular tests, examinations made by different specialists, drugs took place. And all seemed to be going well, but parents understood that it wasn’t so. Doctors said it wasn’t worth worrying – he’s little and will catch up. But when the boy was 10 months old, his mom and dad took him to neurologist once again; the doctor made a completely inconsolable diagnosis – cerebral palsy. Parents were desperate, but, nevertheless, they didn’t lose hope of setting their child on its feet. Constant hospitals, massages, swimming, and drugs filled a young family’s life. Indeed, this yielded good results – Artem tries to get up himself, he really wants to crawl, he started to react more to toys. Doctors say that he is a very promising boy but he needs constant rehabilitation. The poor family is short of money and rehabilitations are required several times per year.
Now the family decided to undergo a course of treatment at Bersenev Medical Center in Kyiv. Artemii is still small, he has every prospect of success to become healthy. Marshuk family believes that there are still kind and caring people who can help them to cure their baby.
