Extend life and relieve pain

Six year old Mirroslava has diabetes. At the kindergarten graduation, releasing a balloon into the sky, she made a wish: that diabetes would disappear and she would become healthy again. We can help the girl maintain her health in a stable state, for this she needs sensors and consumables for an insulin pump. The family needs our help to buy a year's supply of sensors and supplies.

Mirroslava lives in the village of Pobuzke, Kirovograd region. She is engaged in choral singing and learning to play the piano. She weaves from beads, is fond of origami. The girl goes to first grade, she really enjoys studying. Most of all, Mirroslava loves math and reading.

Mirroslava loves animals. She has a cat and hamsters at home. And on the street, the girl always feeds homeless cats.

On August 13, 2023, Mirroslava was taken to the intensive care unit of Pervomaisk with a critically high glucose level of 24 mmol/l. Three weeks before that, her mother noticed that her daughter had lost a lot of weight, she had become thirsty and irritable.

The first thing parents learned about in the intensive care unit was the sensors. They monitor glucose fluctuations and replace multiple finger pricks. One sensor works for 14 days, 24 such devices are needed per year, which amounts to UAH 53,640.

Kind people helped the family buy an insulin pump. The consumables for it will cost UAH 46,360 per year. These are catheters, reservoirs and infusion sets. 

The use of sensors and a pump allows patient to avoid serious complications and, in fact, prolong life. And also - to significantly reduce the amount of pain that the child experiences due to injections.

Before the war, Mirroslava's parents worked at a metallurgical plant. But in October 2022, a missile strike destroyed the power substation. Since then, in order to provide for the family with three minor children, the father has taken on any part-time job.
