For every parent, their child's health is the most important and valuable thing. But sometimes it happens that life gives us trials that we cannot change, only learn to live with them. This is what happened to Bohdanchik's parents. When the boy was eight years old, he fell ill with COVID-19. As a result of the virus, Bohdan had a complication – pneumonia. And soon, in May 2023, doctors diagnosed Bohdan with a new, much more complicated and difficult diagnosis – type I diabetes, insulin-dependent.
Since then, Bohdan and his parents' lives have completely changed. There were only thoughts – maybe it was a mistake, maybe everything would be fine. But numerous tests only confirmed the disappointing diagnosis. We did not want to accept it, but there was no choice. And the family's life started from scratch – a new diet, a change in the rhythm of life. Nowadays, there are many ways to make life easier for children with this diagnosis. One of them is to install a sensor for continuous measurement of blood glucose levels.
Bohdan needs to measure his sugar level more than 10 times a day. If you do it with a glucometer, you need to pierce his small fingers each time. And Bohdan's fingers are so small that it is impossible to watch without crying. Parents do not always have the opportunity to buy sensors, because it is an expensive device for an ordinary Ukrainian family. The boy's mother is hoping for help from philanthropists.
