Polina dreams of living

Polina is a 3rd year student at the University of Customs and Finance, majoring in International Relations. She found out about her illness by accident. For some time she had been suffering from chest and back pain. An X-ray showed a tumour close to her heart and superior vena cava.

In accordance with the agreement No. 21 on cooperation between the CO ICF "Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace" and the Charity Operator of the Charity Fund "POMAGAEM" dated 31.08.2020 and the additional agreement No. 21.284 dated 11.10.2024, the project "Polina Dreams of Living" was posted on the website of the CO ICF "UMB" - dobro.ua - to attract donations to pay for Polina Zagoruyko's treatment.

Subsequently, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the dobro.ua website to purchase Polina's medicines. Therefore, according to the letter No. 751 dated 10.12.2024, we received the collected UAH 54 200.00 (fifty-four thousand two hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks) to the account of the Foundation and continued to collect on the dobro.ua platform.

The funds received in the amount of UAH 54,200.00 (fifty-four thousand two hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks) were spent in December 2024 on the purchase of one course of Kitruda for a young woman.

In January of this year, Polina needed another dose of medicine and we again asked our regular partners, dobro.ua, to transfer the already collected amount of UAH 54,400.00 (fifty-four thousand four hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's account and continue the collection on the dobro.ua website, which was done according to letter No. 19 of 14.01.2025.

Recently, Polya received another dose of Kitruda, and at the end of February she will undergo a contrast tomography scan so that doctors can understand how the treatment is going.

The girl is a 3rd year student at the University of Customs and Finance, majoring in International Relations. She is fond of learning English, German and Spanish, is learning to play the guitar, and dreams of travelling and having her own family.

Polya likes to draw and read books. She has many friends who support her: they go to the cinema and concerts with her and distract her as much as they can.

Polina has 17 more courses of Kitruda chemotherapy ahead of her.

So far, all the funds transferred from the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace have been spent on the girl's needs, and the project is still raising funds.
