Polina is a beautiful, cheerful, but sometimes naughty child, like all children her age. For two years now, the girl has been suffering from insulin-dependent diabetes. Naturally, the diagnosis came as a shock to her mother and grandmother. They did not notice the disease right away. The child was losing weight and drinking a lot of water. The mother decided to have her daughter tested. After seeing the results of the tests, the doctor immediately sent the girl to Sumy hospital. The diagnosis sounded like a sentence. Six months later, the mother took the child to Kyiv's OKHMATDYT, where doctors examined her, found an enlarged liver and thyroid gland, and prescribed treatment.

Today, Polina and her small family have already gotten used to her diagnosis and the fact that they need to be vigilant all the time – counting carbohydrates at every meal, injecting insulin, and checking their sugar levels. Polina already understands that in order to eat something, she needs an injection. 

Polina is a very sociable child, she loves to communicate with other children. In order for Polina to live a full life, she needs continuous glucose monitoring to react to any changes in her sugar level in time. Her mother works and cannot afford to be with Polina all the time. Nevertheless, it is very difficult for her mother to buy glucose monitoring sensors on her own. Polina's grandmother also has a disability and needs treatment, but she helps raise her granddaughter. The minimum wage and meager pension of both women do not allow them to receive full treatment, so Polina's mother is asking you for help.
