Vladyk contracted type 1 diabetes when he was just five years old. Unfortunately, it was a genetic predisposition, as his grandfather had been suffering from diabetes for 35 years. The boy suffered a common “chicken pox”, but it gave complications to the pancreas and possibly caused the development of the disease. With the extreme sugar levels, the boy was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he was diagnosed. Since then, Vladyk has to undergo finger punctures and insulin injections every day.

Vladyk is a talented and capable boy. He studies well, is fond of swimming and football. He loves to ride his bike and play computer games. However, unlike his peers, Vlad needs to constantly follow a diet and treatment. An active and energetic boy needs to control his glucose level to avoid more serious problems. This can only be done with the help of continuous monitoring sensors. Unfortunately, his family cannot afford them. His mother is asking for help for Vladyk.
