Since the age of three, Stepan has been living with diabetes. Stepan started school at the age of 7 because he was very small and always lagged behind his peers in terms of physical performance. However, since childhood, he has read and studied a lot of foreign languages, was interested in history and played musical instruments. The skills and ability to overcome the difficulties of life acquired since childhood have shaped this talented young man.

Stepan has been living in Lviv for 10 years. He is from an IDP family that moved from Donetsk. He is now 18 years old and a first-year student at Lviv Forestry University. He studies hard – he has the best grades after the first semester in Ukrainian history, political science, English and psychology.

In addition to his studies, Stepan spends a lot of time on medical consultations and examinations, as he has been suffering from diabetes for 15 years. Unfortunately, the disease is showing signs. Stepan has complications with his pancreas and eyesight. It is imperative for him to avoid even more complications, and round-the-clock glucose monitoring helps him to do this. It also makes life much easier for a young man who is among his peers, among young people. This can be done with the help of sensors. But they are not provided free of charge by the state, you have to buy them yourself. Stepan's family consists of his boyfriend, mother and 80-year-old grandmother. The financial situation of these people is very difficult. They rent an apartment in Lviv because they left theirs in Donetsk. They have no money to buy sensors. Six months ago, we managed to send Stepan sensors for a few months, but they have already run out because they have a limited lifespan. The guy needs our help with sensors again!
