Stepan is nineteen years old, ambitious and smart, he is a second-year student at the National Forestry University. For his excellent academic results, the boy was awarded an academic scholarship. What is even more incredible is that he managed to achieve this despite constant visits to hospitals and a diagnosis that he has been struggling with for almost his entire life – sixteen years – type 1 diabetes.

Over the years, Stepan has learned not to let the disease break his wings: he studies well, diligently polishes his English, loves to read manga and dreams of saving up for an electric guitar and learning to play his favorite hard rock on it. However, diabetes still continues to leave unhealed wounds on his health – this June, during a medical examination, the boy was diagnosed with group 2 disability. And, without the daily struggle – painful, isolating and, unfortunately, unbearably expensive for the family of an IDP from Donetsk – his condition will only get worse. Help Stepan shine!
