Decent treatment conditions for wounded soldiers

Now in Ukraine people make intensive efforts to rebuild hospitals and provide them with all the necessary. However, there is one category of critically wounded who have damaged brain or spinal cord. Now in Ukraine there is no department that specializes in the wounded that slap into a coma, and they are dispersed into the free rooms of the hospital. The goal of our project is to create a new intensive care unit and intensive care therapy unit for the critically wounded who slap into a coma.

Now these boys are treated in unsuitable to their condition premises. And we have already started major maintenance of a new department which was provided by hospital. On the UBB platform we collect funds for purchasing of a new branch of conditioning and ventilation system total cost almost 100 thousand UAH.

What is the dignity? Snowy pre-revolutionary building of the Infectious department Main Military Clinical Hospital. Stairs. Reanimation. In the gray ward which separated from the corridor with old white wooden doors flashing signals of monitors. They read information that delivers the body of a young skinny soldier. How does the heart? How is the breathing? How is the brain?

The ceiling in the room is cracked from the constant leaks, all corners are covered with fungus. Swollen and torn linoleum in the hallway and around a gray color of despair from which there is no escape. There was no repair more than 30 years.

The patient does not see this. Almost six months the guy doesn’t come to life after injury received in the ATO area. His head bent sideway and doesn’t move, his pale hands quietly lying on white sheets. Six months… How could his mother see it? She comes to his son every day, with medical staff washes it makes a special massage, talking with him. Son is silent. She has no place to sit and rest. She rests in the nursing room.

Such soldiers a lot in hospital and in Ukraine. First they fought bravely in the ATO area and now courageously clinging to life in the hospital. And they are not very loud discussing by media because there are those who now need surgery, prosthetic, put on the feet. Hospital makes that may but is not able to do everything because of the quantity of injured.

Diagnosis and condition of these patients is not a sentence. Each of the guys has a chance if not a full recovery, at least partial restoration of basic functions. It all depends on the level of care they receive. Currently they need day and night and special treatment and rehabilitation: artificial ventilation of lungs, sanitation Broncho pulmonary system, a systematic hemodialysis, nutrition through a tube, prevention of bedsores, and more. Advanced set of procedures requires concentration in one place specialists and necessary equipment.

We will create such a department. We need conditioning systems, building materials, special medical equipment and furniture. Cost is considerable and we are trying to save money where possible. For example, removal of old buildings were made by volunteers, part of building materials and furniture were purchased by different companies and benefactors.

We suggest you join the purchase of a new air conditioning and ventilation system – one of the most important items of expenditure. This amount can be easily overcome with the help of of benefactors and information dissemination.
